My little grandchildren in Germany have always thought that Nana loved hummingbirds...which I do...and so I found one to do a pastel,
thinking of them as I worked on it.

Humming birds are such a intricate little bird and I try to feed them during the summer. Wish they didn't go so fast! Zip..they come..zip..they go. Blink and you miss it!

I actually have memories of sitting on the porch, waiting and listening for them to flutter up to your hanging flowers. I'm pretty sure those days were the last times I even saw a humming bird. They're awefully pretty birds.

your paintings are beautiful. How fun. I have not had the chance to do watercolor yet, they took it out of my degree program, so now instead of it being required, it is an extra class you can take. So once I get close to finishing all the classes I have to take I will definately check out water color.
